Reasons For Not Getting Any Snapchat Notifications

Basically, there are 3 reasons for not getting Snapchat notifications, which are as follows –

App Notifications Are Disabled
Background activity for Snapchat is disabled.
You yourself have disabled the message notifications of a particular friend or group

Fix 1 – Enable Snapchat Notifications

Before you try any other fixes, first make sure you have enabled Snapchat to send you notifications. Here is how you can enable notifications on Android & iPhone –

Open the Settings app or long-tap on the Snapchat App and select “App Info“.
Now select the app list option and select Snapchat.
Scroll up a little and select the Notification option.
Make sure notifications are enabled, and tap on the “Show Notifications” to enable it.

Fix 2 – Check Snapchat Inbuilt Notifications Settings

If the notifications are not disabled or if you enabled it and are still not getting any notifications, then most probably, you have mistakenly changed the notification settings in the app itself.

Open the Snapchat app & tap on your account page by tapping on your Bitmoji icon.
Now, look for the settings option (a gear icon) and tap on it.
Now, from the listed options, select notifications.
Now enable the required notification settings like stories from friends‘ notifications, etc.

Fix 3 – Allow Snapchat To Run in the Background

If the notifications are enabled in both the settings app and Snapchat itself, then Snapchat is not allowed to run in the background, and that is why it is not sending you any notifications.

If you use an Android phone, open the Snapchat app settings by going to the app info tab and turning on Allow Background Activity by tapping on the battery usage option (This option differs from one mobile brand to another).
If you are an iPhone user, go to your mobile settings and tap on the Background App Refresh option.
Make sure Snapchat is added to the background app refresh list.
